The Professionals: Jinsoo Kang

Our Country Manager in Norway is a creative at heart. But a chance job offer after graduating in art history shifted his focus to sales and he’s never looked back.

“There’s an art to leadership too, right?” Jinsoo says as he reminisces about his sudden change in career path from visual artist to sales and his journey to now, leading our team in Norway.

What does your job entail – tell us more about what you do!
My role covers full commercial responsibility for Business Area Laundry in Norway. I lead a team of 14 people and oversee everything from strategic sales development and key account management to operational performance and team leadership.

A significant part of my job involves identifying growth opportunities, managing profit and loss and ensuring that we consistently deliver results. I work closely with cross-functional teams across markets to drive execution and align with our broader business targets.

What route did you take in terms of studies and jobs to where you are today?
I originally studied art, art history and graphic design but after graduating, I was offered a role in sales. That unexpected opportunity gave me my first real exposure to leadership and business development, and it completely changed the course of my career.

It challenged me, motivated me and I discovered that working with people, driving results and building something over time was very motivational. Looking back, I haven’t regretted that decision for a second. And in a way, creativity is still a big part of what I do, whether it’s solving problems, seeing new market opportunities or building a strong team.

You joined Electrolux Professional Group in 2018 – what experience did you bring?
I spent over a decade in retail and consumer-related businesses such as Casio Scandinavia and Canon EMEA, where I held senior roles. That experience taught me a lot about complex stakeholder management, enterprise-level negotiations, developing sell-in and sell-out strategies, and long-term customer relationships—skills that have proven invaluable in my current role.

What do you love about the role?
What truly motivates me is seeing people grow, both professionally and personally. Building high-performing teams and strong cultures is at the heart of how I lead. I also enjoy the commercial challenge – aligning market strategy with execution, identifying trends and financial data and customer buying behavior, and turning those insights into strategic business results.

What advice would you give to people wanting to work in a position like yours?
It’s essential to be commercially driven, to take calculated risks, and to take full ownership of your own actions. Without that mindset, it’s hard—if not impossible—to reach the kind of results you truly aim for.

Invest in your communication skills, build trust with your team and lead with transparency. And don’t be afraid of change. Some of our best growth has come from challenging assumptions and entering markets where we were once considered outsiders.

Why choose to work at Electrolux Professional Group?
It’s a company where ambition meets purpose. We’re not just delivering products – we’re enabling better outcomes for our customers through innovation, service and sustainability. At the same time, the organization empowers its people. You get the space to lead, influence and to make a measurable difference. For anyone looking to grow in a dynamic, international setting, this is an excellent place to be.
