1989
The business area within the Electrolux Group was established by integrating, for the first time, all the professional activities that had been acquired throughout the years and now were part of the Electrolux Group. These operations comprised market leaders in specific segments, such as food service, laundry systems, commercial refrigeration and cleaning.
1996 – 2002
Electrolux Professional business area was streamlined and approximately 20 smaller plants were closed. In addition, several other operations, for instance leisure appliances, motors and compressors, were divested between 1998 and 2002.
1999
An operational headquarter for the professional business area was established in Pordenone, Italy. The business area is focusing on two main product lines, food service and laundry systems. The main product line for food service was located in Pordenone and the main product line for laundry systems in Ljungby, Sweden.
2004
Electrolux Professional began to focus once more on international expansion, establishing and incorporating the operational offices in North America.
2005
Incorporation of the industrial facility in Thailand, where the production of food service equipment would cater to the Asia-Pacific region. Additional commercial entities were opened in other parts of the world such as India, Brazil and Dubai.
2015
Acquisition of Shanghai Veetsan Commercial Machinery, one of the largest manufacturers of professional dishwashers in China. The acquisition further strengthened Electrolux Professional’s position in China and the Asia-Pacific region, where the Company saw potential for significant growth.
2017
Electrolux Professional entered the beverage equipment segment through the acquisition of Grindmaster-Cecilware in the United States. The Company manufactures hot, cold and frozen beverage dispensing equipment, including coffee machines. This acquisition was followed by two further acquisitions targeted at expanding the technological platform through beverage as well as coffee equipment.
2018
SPM, an Italian manufacturer of frozen beverage equipment, was acquired. Acquisition of Schneidereit, a supplier of laundry rental solutions for professional customers in Germany and Austria, opened up the possibility for the development of new business models.
2019
Acquisition of Unic, a French manufacturer of automatic as well as traditional espresso coffee machines.
2020
Spin-off from AB Electrolux and listing on Nasdaq Stockholm
2021
Acquisiton of Unified Brands, a leading US-based manufacturer of foodservice equipment.
2022
A new operating model was implemented from July 1, 2022. Within the two reportable segments – Food & Beverage and Laundry five new Business Areas was added, focusing on customer categories and geographies: Food Europe, Food Americas, Food APAC & MEA, Beverage & Food Preparation and Laundry.
To clarify the roles of Electrolux Professional as both a company, and a business brand, the corporate brand Electrolux Professional Group was introduced.
2024
Acquisition of TOSEI Corporation, a leading manufacturer of laundry and vacuum packing machines in Japan. Acquisiton was announced in 2023, and completed in 2024. Founded in 1950.
Acquisition of Adventys – a French specialist in Induction technology. Adventys, founded in 1999, designs and produces induction cooking equipment. The acquisition was announced and completed in April, 2024.
