The Professionals: Amber Peabody

On joining the company in 2021, our Digital Marketing Specialist in BA Food Americas knew practically nothing about the commercial kitchen industry but brought first-class marketing skills and a driving curiosity to learn about the business.

On her career journey so far, she’s already experienced the realization of shifting from an agency to in-house to achieve her aspirations.

And speaking of achievements, she picked up a national Thirty Under 30 award that recognized her rising star talents – we’re happy to have you on the team Amber!

AmericasMarketingTeam-scaledYou’re a Digital Marketing Specialist – what does that job title entail?

All things digital marketing for the Americas! My key focus areas are website maintenance, social media strategy and management, email marketing and assisting Product Managers with material development, data sheets and product launches.

What route did you take in terms of studies and jobs to where you are today?

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a focus on branding. I started my career at an advertising agency as an Assistant Account Manager, but quickly realized an agency setting and account management did not align with my professional aspirations. Subsequently, I transitioned to an in-house marketing team, assuming the role of a Content Marketing Associate at a prominent manufacturer of storage and organization products for the residential kitchen and bath industry. My time there was marked by notable achievements, including the honor of being recognized as a Thirty Under 30 award recipient in 2020 by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. In 2021, I made the decision to pivot my skills and expertise towards the commercial kitchen industry, leading me to join Electrolux Professional.

What do you love about the role?

Keeping up with the ever-changing digital marketing and industry trends, as well as challenging myself to learn a new skill. I am proud to work for a company that is committed to the same level of growth and innovation, enabling their workforce with the best tools to achieve these goals. My ideas have always been met with support, encouragement and guidance from my colleagues, both locally and globally.

And, on the other hand, what are the biggest challenges?

The acquisition of Unified Brands and the introduction of our Business Area have been the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences of my career. Within the marketing department, we worked tirelessly to optimize our processes, improve workflow efficiencies and began building our new Americas brand strategy and messaging. The work can be tough, but I cannot be prouder of what our regional and global teams have been able to accomplish.

Amber2-scaledWhat advice would you give to people wanting to work in a position like yours?

Stay curious! Coming into this role, I knew nothing of the commercial food/beverage equipment industry. The things I learned in my first job as a hostess when I was 16 was the extent of my foodservice knowledge. However, I knew I had the marketing skills and driving curiosity to learn how to adapt to this new industry. So, set out to learn skills that not only apply to your role, but also ones that can aid your knowledge and growth in the company as a whole. Being well-versed and having adaptable skills will take you far.

How would you like to develop further in your role or potentially do something completely different?

I love what I do. The field of marketing is broad and always changing, so I am excited to see how my role and responsibilities adapt as our company evolves.

Tell us about your experience of the multinational working environment and the opportunities that exist within the company?

I believe that cross-country collaboration leads to innovation. Meeting with international colleagues routinely is crucial for leveraging the diverse strengths, perspectives and resources that come with a global workforce. It fosters a culture of creativity, adaptability, and continuous learning, ultimately contributing to the development of ground–breaking ideas and solutions.
